How Kamu Healings Came About

Kamu Healings came about during a 10 day Vipassana silent retreat I undertook in 2016 on the Murray River in Adelaide.

The opportunity to came about just before my holidays began. I made an enquiry to join the 10 day silent retreat only a few days before and to my surprise there was one spot left, so I jumped at it.

One of my intentions of the retreat was to not only dig deep and find some inner peace but it was also to find a name for my business. I had been reading about the ancient land of Lemuria many years before and kept coming across information regularly about the race, their knowledge within the healing arts, telepathy, their connection to nature and advanced spiritual knowledge and language.

The name Kamu was shown to me in my meditation and after some research I soon discovered that Ka means “spirit of” and Mu was the name given to Lemuria in later years. So, the Spirit of Lemuria was born into existence - KAMU HEALINGS.

It seemed very fitting considering my fascination with the continent and also knowing there may have been times in previous lives where I was part of the society in Lemuria. Even thou I do not remember these experiences, somehow I have a knowing that it was true...

How did I get here?

In my past I was a champion local swimmer holding a number of Gold Coast records, age champion at high school and a state finalist in my favorite event the 200 meter Breaststroke.

At 17 I took up martial arts after being completely blown away with Bruce Lee and anything in the field of Martial Arts.

I graded to my Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do by the age of 20 and then went on pursuit of Southern Pray Mantis Kung Fu.

My instructor at the time was an acupuncturist, Naturopath and shiatsu practitioner. It was at this time I began my fascination of the healing arts as well. To me Martial arts and healing arts went hand in hand.

I remember reading about the great Karate Master Mas Oyama, a 10th Dan Black Belt in his own style of Kyokushin Karate. In is book "The Budo Karate of Mas Oyama" he states that a true martial artist must not only be bale to hurt, he must be able to heal as well.

This philosophy stuck with me for years and even thou I am not a practicing martial artist now I still have it in my blood.

My journey took me on many discoveries with different styles over the years including Tai Chi, Hai Dong Gum do and Karate.

This year, after many years of being called to do so, I travelled to Japan and trained for 10 days at the Osaka Kung Fu School. At 57 years of age I did my best to keep up with other students who were more than half my age. I think I did quite well considering my lack of recent training.

I was married for 19 years and had the honor of fathering two incredible humans who are now young adults and travelling the world.  My connection with my children is one of my greatest successes.

My marriage ended upon discovering my wife was involved with another man. This news gutted me to my core and for years I struggled to trust women, question every aspect of myself, drank too much, smoked too much weed and took too many risks.

It was three years after I left her that I began to immerse myself back into the healing arts. Firstly to heal myself of a broken heart and then to also assist other people to get over traumatic experiences, illness of broken hearts.

In some strange way I am very grateful for my wife's infidelities'. If it wasn't for this major shakeup I may not have become the man I am today.

I have now studied, Kinesiology, Touch for health, Hypnotherapy, Coaching, Access Bars, Shiatsu, Breathwork and now facilitating as well.

I seeked help on numerous occasions over the years. One of my therapists who taught me Touch for Health introduced me to his good friend who eventually became a spiritual mentor to me. This year his life was cut short as a result of complications in hospital. His teachings will live on forever in my heart thou. Thank you Rod for all you did for me.

I consider myself extremely fortunate having been taught these arts from some great men.

So now I am here in Noosa Heads, offering Kamu Healings to the wider community. I look forward to helping you in the future
